In A Molting State?

Our Thoughts:

I've been an avid bird watcher for some time. We have many bird feeders in our back yard, and the birds collect there like ants! We watch them in the winter, when they aren't as pretty as they will be in the Spring. Then Spring comes, and you see a 'change' in the birds. They begin their 'molting' season, and their coats take on a sharper, more beautiful sight! Some of the birds seem to change right before your eyes! Take the Goldfinch, for instance. The male looks mostly like the female, during the winter. But, now that it's Spring, the male has become a brilliant yellow, distinguishing itself from the female.

In our Christian lives, we take on a molting state from the very first. We trust God that we are saved, and our faith is renewed in the Word day by day. We are to be new creatures in Christ, and, as we live in His Word, our life puts on new meaning. The old things of satan we begin to see aren't of God. We begin to have no desire to do the things that we once did. They just don't hold our interest any longer. We begin to shed those unneeded 'material' things that have us under bondage. We make new friends, those that will help us grow in the Lord. The molting state is forever with us, as we change day to day, growing closer and closer to the perfection that God wants for us in our lives. Through the power He has given us by His Spirit in our lives, we can obtain that perfection!
