A Free Gift

Our Thoughts:

Who doesn't like unexpected gifts! I remember one Christmas, when I was handed a rather heavy package by my husband. For someone who's pretty good in guessing what is in a package, before opening it, I was at a loss on this one! As I unwrapped it, and opened the box, I found all manner of things, put in to make it heavy. There were rocks and pieces of wood, but, right in the middle, was another small, wrapped box! There was no guessing what was in the box. I knew it had to be a ring. Sure enough, when I opened it, my eyes feasted on a beautiful diamond ring, something I had wanted for years. And, here is was, finally at my finger tips!

There is another free gift, yours for the asking and accepting. It's the gift of life, given to you by the Father. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to bear all our sins on the cross, so that we could go free. His grace was supplied without cost. We go free, by only believing in Him, that He is our resurrected Saviour, that He did it all just for us. If we come repenting to the Lord, and ask forgiveness of our sins, He will quickly fill you with His Spirit, giving you power over sin. The free gift gives you eternal life with Him.

God's Thoughts:

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, you gave your Son that we each could go free. Help us reach those that haven't believed on your name, so that they, too, might go free. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
