'Gather At The River' OR Jump In? Our Thoughts:
When I was young, a bunch of kids, along with our parents, would go down to the creek. There used to be only sand rock where there is now a high bridge. One could drive a car so far out into the creek,
and wash it. We could also walk out there, and play around in the water that slid over the rocks at times. I always thought this was neat. But, as the years went by, they built a better road and finally a good bridge across the creek, leading to another town.
It was fun to 'gather at the river', but we didn't stop there, most times. We usually jumped in, playing around in the water. It was hot, and we wanted to get wet! It's no fun just 'looking' at the water; more fun to get it on you!
Just as with gathering at the river, in life, most of us gather at the river, spiritually. We seem to go so far, and never go far enough to jump in and get wet. It seems to be enough just to be saved, and not be bothered with anything else.
Worship is singing a song, praying a prayer, and going home. But, God wants more than that from us. He wants a people that are unshamed to give themselves wholly to Him, to be used by Him. He doesn't want someone that is lukewarm, afraid to show emotion. So, be bold; step into the water - get wet for GOD!
God's Thoughts:
Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help be be bold!! I want to give my all for you, to be sold out completely. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
