Commitment To Love Our Thoughts:
People meet, fall in love, and decide to marry. Sometimes, they marry with many misconceptions of what marriage will be for them. Romantic notions are very prevalant, yet, those notions don't always
materalize, after the marriage takes place. We fall back into reality, and reality doesn't always make room for lots of romance. We have to work, keep house, and soon, along comes the children. Our dreams of midnight talks in the moonlight, red roses for
our anniversary, chocolates for Valentine's Day, or vacations on the Riviera just don't happen often! Nevertheless, we don't call off the marriage, simply because our expectations of this 'storybook marriage' just didn't materialize! No, we work to make
our marriage happy, and an example that our children can look at, when they begin to start their married lives. We are committed to having a happy relationship, to love each other, until death do us part!
Spiritually, love is a commandment. We are told to love our neighbor as ourselves. We first have to love ourselves in order to love another. When we commit our lives to another, as in our marriage vows, we are to love that person as we love
ourselves. When we commit our souls to God, His love then dwells in us, and we show forth this love to others. We have to stay committed to God daily, in order for His love to flow out of us so that others may see Jesus in us.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 31:23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, guide my life that I stay committed to you, and show forth your love to others along the way. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
