Tongue

Our Thoughts:

Just how quick are we to pass judgement on someone? Do we honestly weigh our thoughts before putting them into action? Do we believe that we are always right; we never make mistakes and it's always the other fellow that is in error?

Our imagination has a way of running away with us. We 'think' we know what another means when we read the 'written word', but it's not always the case. I know; did that today and found what was written was certainly not what was intended to come out. Therefore, I , being the human I am, jumped to the wrong conclusion.

The written word, in this case, was the 'keyboard' doing the 'talking'. I quickly learned that what I perceived to be what was meant wasn't that at all, and we got things straight. But too many times, we let things slide and never really get the 'air clear'. Our tongue, at times, get us into 'hot water'. We need to learn, early in life, how to put a bridle on the tongue.

Who's running the show these days?

God's Thoughts:

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, help us learn to control our thoughts, that they don't run wild. And help us control our tongue, that we never speak anything of which you wouldn't approve, or that would hurt others. In Jesus name, Amen.
