Honoring Our Parents

Our Thoughts:

This country has gone beserk with the 'politically correctness' that it's asserting on people! It not only has strayed from common sense, but from the very basics of the gospel! Or does GOD not matter anymore? Seems He didn't matter when they buckled under and took Him and the Bible out of the public schools. We let society take over, therefore, removing the ability for the children to make up their own minds to whether they would prefer prayer in schools or daily bible reading. I'm one that came from schools where students did the daily Bible reading voluntarily, and we loved it. We honored God in a short prayer in the morning, in those days. But, it seems we've come a long way from that in these terrible days.

Can you imagine saying, "Mom and Dad, you no longer matter anymore. Political correctness says we are no longer able to honor you on the day set aside, because it might offend someone." WHO? I don't think it offends the children, unless adults pump it into their heads! Children haven't 'come' that far yet! They learn by those they observe and to whom they listen. And, if it's taught that it's okay to have two men for parents, then, that's what they believe. Never mind it ALWAYS takes a woman to get that child here! Or, if it's two women raising a child, perhaps they've taught that child that it's okay not to have a father. Wait until these children grow up and learn it does take two parents of different sex to make a child. What will he/she think then of what he/she's been taught?

I do believe the day is coming that there will be a clash between these children and their 'parents', for all the things they've been put through. I am sure they face anguish every day, because of the circumstances they are under. Even children of two parents face anguish, and how much more will the a child of one-sex parents face?

And now, there's the schoolmistress of a pricey Manhattan school banning the celebration of Mother's Day and Father's Day. Seems it would offend 'some'. Just who are these 'some'? One, two, three or more SINGLE parents who chose to live a lifestyle unpleasing to God? Do we subject the rest of the children in the school to these sort of things, simply because a few 'demand' that we stop? Well, it took only one in the 1960's to BAN GOD so why would Mothers and Daddys have any more clout?

God's Thoughts:

Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, it seems that this country has gone a little far in 'political correctness'. It's now wrong to honor our parents on their day. Your Word tells us to honor our parents that our days may be long on earth. Help us to reclaim what we are losing in this country, to once again, turn to you and your Word, and not to be ashamed to stand up and fight for our rights. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
