In Sickness and Health, He Is Still God!

Our Thoughts:

Sickness seems to be sweeping the land today, more than ever. You hear so much about the 'virus going around', new viral infections, and outbreaks of the flu. Everywhere you look, someone is sick with something. The doctors are able to combat sickness in our bodies with medicine, but sometimes, the medicine that had worked previously, no longer works in our body for the same sickness. We get 'immune' to different medicines, and a new medicine is then tried out. Or, perhaps we become allergic to different medications. Either way, sickness sometimes prevails for a time in our body, and we become weak from the strain.

There is a physician that administers 'medicine', and it works! But, there is a rule of thumb that the physician goes by, according to scripture. We have to 'listen to the physician', do what the physician says, and keep all HIS words. He says, that if we do all these things, we won't be sick, and therefore, medicine won't be needed. Perhaps there is a reason for so much sickness in the land. Perhaps we aren't as diligent in doing what the Physician - CHRIST JESUS - says, as we think we are. If we are, then perhaps His Word is wrong. BUT, we know that His word 'is truth' [John 17:17], and if we follow after the truth, do what is in His commandments, healing will come to our bodies, or we won't even be sick. If there comes a time when we slip and fall, and our body is attacked, we need to get right up, pray, seek the Lord, and get right back in the Word. We have to be doers of the Word, not just hearers. If we never DO what the Word says, then it won't work for us; thus, sickness will invade our bodies, and we will seek help elsewhere. But, regardless of sickness, He is the God that 'healeth thee' - He also works through the doctors to bring health to our bodies.
