The Good Samaritan
Our Thoughts:
I just finished reading the story, 'The Rare Mongolian Rabbit' in the book Chocolate for a Mother's Heart by Kay Allenbaugh. It is an inspiration
to people who need help and kindness in time of need - no questions asked! Sounds like the story is truly about a rabbit, but it shows the kindness within a man's heart toward others, when he sees a family
in desperate need. You know that God perhaps spoke to this man's heart, when he saw the family, and he understood that it was a choice he could make, to either help or not. And, help he need! He took them
through the struggles of their life, by providing needed food for the 'mongolian rabbit' - which was actually a starving family. He truly was the good Samaritan.
There are good Samaritains out there everywhere. We just don't know them, or perhaps just don't hear about the good deeds they do for others. But, God wants all of us to have the 'good Samaritan'
attitude within us, to want to help others in their time of need. When we do this, then we will be blessed by doing, and others will bless us in doing for us. You've always heard the clique, 'what goes around, comes around',
and I do believe that. If you choose to help others in their time of need, then, if you ever need anything, then someone will be there, knocking on your door, to help you. But, I firmly believe, if you turn your face away from
others, and aren't compassionate to their needs, then, if you get into a bad situation, there will be nobody in sight to help you. We need to be ready to show the love of God to others, when they need it most.
God's Thoughts:
Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
