It's Not Fair!
Our Thoughts:
Ever tried to satisfy more than one child at a time? Impossible, especially when they all want to do the same thing at the same time!
It's not a matter of, 'will you wait?', but, a matter of 'it's not fair'! How many times have I heard that already this morning, with three of my grandchildren! First, the three wheeler had
the back brakes to lock up. Then, the go-cart had problems. Papa fixed the go-cart, and they got back out in the yard. But, each one of them fussed because the other one 'had more time than I did' ......
gets monotonous, at times! It's like a broken record!! Then, playing the nintendo seemed the right thing to do. Two played nintendo, and wouldn't let the other one join in. Then, one got the TV and started
watching a program; instantly, the other two wanted to play nintendo. But, when my granddaughter gave up the TV for them to play, they decided SHE wanted to watch TV at a certain time, so they'd force her to
watch it NOW and they'd play LATER! Give us a break!
Job got to the point in life, that all he wanted was for God to let him die. He thought death would bring the end to his miseries. He just wanted to duck out on life, in what he thought would be the 'easy way out'. To him, life just wasn't 'fair'.
Nothing in life is fair. It wasn't 'fair', when they marched Jesus to the cross. But, he went willingly. How much can we learn from His example? Instead of trying to learn, we are always trying to
'escape' and make it appear that we are never at fault - it's always the other person. When life deals us miseries, usually we have had a part in the outcome. We should search our hearts, to find the problem, then
go to Him to get it altered. Until then, life will still keep dishing out the 'unfair' syndrome, and we'll keep being miserable.
God's Thoughts:
Job 6:8 Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, to us sometimes, life isn't fair. But, help us realize that sometimes what we long for isn't as important as what you have in store for us. Thank you for keeping us in 'Your sight' always! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
