Worship With The Heart
 Our Thoughts:
I love Sunday School and I can either sit through the singing or do without it. And, when the preacher is a 'preacher of the Word', I enjoy the preaching. But, to commune with God is the MEAL of the day. Worship is the 'main course' at church for me. I can sit quietly, and let Him speak, or I can 'reach out and touch Him'. But, either way, it is wonderful to know GOD is there.
When one worships God, you have to 'focus' on Him, not on other things, or any other person. The worship has to come from the heart. One has to give up the ideas of worship that we have, our own traditions, and our rituals, to worship Christ like He wants one to worship Him.
He doesn't care how you are dressed, where you are at, or who's with you. But, he does care how you worship. The scripture says we are to worship him in 'spirit and in truth'. We have to come humbly to Him, with an upright spirit, influenced by the Holy Spirit. If we humble ourselves before Him, no past sins will interfere with our worshipping Him. He delights in our thanksgivings, fervent prayers, and supplications from a heart right before Him.
God's Thoughts:
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, teach us to worship you in spirit and in truth. Help us to feel your presence, in our worship, all the time. We want to be close to you always. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
