Smut From The Enemy
June 13, 2001 Our Thoughts:
Misapplied words are one of the tricks of the enemy. Too many of the english words found in our dictionaries today are
misused, causing confusion in our society. Even an innocent devotional or a new Christian web page, using one of these words, is quickly seen as wrong. What is our society coming to?
Society has taken such innocent words as gay, ticklers, among others, to protray things those words were not meant to protray. Then, when they are used in their proper context,
people get offended. And, I often wonder from where the offense comes; was it the enemy or their own sinful lives? Do we not realize, that when we sin, we should repent of those things, and
God forgives us. When He forgives, those sins are removed 'as far as the east is from the west' [ Psalm 103:12 ], and His mercy endures forever. But, the enemy will make you recall these things,
in order to get you side tracked, and on the offensive, for your past. But, we should learn to handle things differently, and to let God handle the matter. We need to take the power we have from God
within us, and tell satan to get lost! He has no control over us that we don't give him. He will continue to try to upset you by bringing up things for which God has forgiven you. You have to 'resist the
devil and he will flee'. [James 4:7]
God's Thoughts:
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we know we are forgiven for our past sins. Help us to be ready for the devil when he brings past things into our minds and tries to bewilder us with his lies. We give you praise and honor. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
