Have Trouble Trusting?

Our Thoughts:

Trust is something people earn from us. People, years ago, could take people 'at their word'; in other words, trust that what they 'said' meant what they would do. You could, sort of, 'take it to the bank'. But, now, even with a signed document, it's hard to trust anyone anymore. You especially have to be careful whose word alone you trust! They tell you one thing, probably to appease you, and then, later, forget they've told you anything. Then, they don't understand why you no longer trust what they say. I can still remember words that were said to me about a 'gift' that was supposed to come to me for my high school graduation. Folks, that's been many years, and that gift has yet to materialize! Would I trust the woman who told me that anymore? No, and I didn't even trust 'her word' then. She had a history of saying things and then not following through. In other words, you need not trust anything she told you, because it usually wasn't so. I want to think, rather than 'lying', she really believed what she was saying at the time!

People sometimes become fickle; they change without warning. When it gets hard to trust anyone, there is someone in whom you can place your full confidence - one who will be faithful to the end. You won't have to worry if He will keep His Word. His ways are tried and true. He said he would never leave you or forsake you.
