A Life Of Rage
June 20, 2001 Our Thoughts:
Are you living a life of rage? Do you constantly have a temper that gets out of control, and you don't know what to do about it? Just today, we heard about the 'road rage', where this fellow got into a fender bender.
He was so irrate, that he took the woman's little poodle from her lap, and threw it into oncoming traffic on the freeway. This was uncontrolled anger at it's worse, and he will pay for it with jail time.
I am sure you've seen the same road rage, when someone couldn't stand to be behind another vehicle. Or, perhaps a vehicle wasn't going as fast as a driver thought the other one should, so he pulls around him, and then, deliberately slows down, to make the other driver mad. Folks, this
is only the devil working in humans. He will try anything to get you out of line with reality and in line with him. He wants 'partners', and it seems he's doing a very good job at it! Rage is on the rise; it's seen everywhere - roads, stores, homes, schools, parks - any place a human may be, when he/she loses
control of their faculties! The enemy won't let up until he's defeated in the end!
Rage can be controlled; anger can be productive, not in a vindictive way. The Bible says to 'anger and sin not'. When you have problems with anger, speak to the Lord. He can bring about a peace 'that passeth all understanding' [ Phil 4:7 ] in any area of your life.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we are humans and humans make mistakes. But, Lord, help us control our anger and not get into a state of rage, whereby we lose our 'love' for our fellow man. Help us defeat the enemy in our lives daily. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
