Stop The World-I Want Off!

dotOur Thoughts:

Today's world is not what I saw when I looked ahead in time thirty or forty years ago. The bad thing on television was Elvis Presley and his hip-grinding dancing. The Beatles were the number one singers. It was the time of the flower children and the beginning of the Vietnam War. We thought it was bad when women expressed themselves by burning their bra, and the young boys went off to Canada to escape the draft. Those were difficult days, sure, but what about today?

It's not politically correct to be correct anymore. Being correct is going by God's Word. It's parents having the sayso over what their children are taught, how they are raised, or what they do. Being correct is being able to have freedom of speech, without being told the Bill of Rights is no longer 'our right'. Being correct is being able to use the words in the dictionary in the form in which they were meant, and not have them misconstrued as meaning something for which they were obviously NOT intended!

Today, marriage no longer means a husband and wife of different sex. Celibacy and virginity are now frowned upon. It's 'okay' (NOT by my standards!) to be a 'swinger', have multiple partners, live together before marriage, advertise your sex life, or whatever pleases you, it's okay to do!

Just how long will God let this world stay the way it is today, without bringing down the curtain? How many more slaps against the Word will he take, before he says "That's enough!"? People may think they have 'escaped' the brunt of His judgement, if they live a full and peaceful life. But, if a person does not know God as their personal Saviour, came to Him in repentance of their sins, and accepted His Grace, through faith, then there is no hope for him/her.

My grandparents could not phantom what has happened in this world since they left to be with the Lord. Could they have looked ahead and seen what was going to happen, they would have thanked God for taking them on to be with Him - they escaped a world of corruption, far worse than it ever was back then. Corruption seems to seep out of the very pores of society! Our children are being subjected to things that would have been deplorable when we were growing up! If our parents frowned on Elvis' grinding his hips and his sexy singing, they'd love to bring him back now! His way of singing and his dancing couldn't hold a candle to the things that go on now 'in the name of music and dance'. Sometimes, the old saying, 'in the good old days', makes sense, in that, it was better back then. Although deterioration to society was going on in the fifties, sixties, and the seventies, nothing was as bad as it is today, in 2001. One often wonders what is going to happen next. What new thing will crop up, to make us more sure than ever that His return is imminent.

dotGod's Thoughts:

Psalms 9:8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

Isaiah 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, help us walk uprightly before you, so that your light might shine through us to the lost and dying world. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
