The True Answer Comes From God
Our Thoughts:
As I read Pastor Tim Davis' CLEANLAUGH edition this morning on Trapper's Stove, I was reminded how many times we think we have the answer, only to find it wasn't the correct one after all.
In the Trapper's Stove, three hunters, an engineer, a psychologist, and a theologian, all had different answers to why this particular trapper had hung the stove in his cabin up in the air.
Each was just as equally sure that his individual answer was right. But, when they approached the trapper for the answer, his was the correct answer, but didn't match one of the three
that were 'so sure' they were right.
How many times are we SURE that we have the answer, then find that our answer was wrong? The enemy comes to assure you that you couldn't be wrong - there's no way! But, still
when the answer came, and what you had figured to be truth was definitely wrong.
In our spiritual lives, at times, we think we have the answer all figured out. In fact, if everyone would be absolutely honest, we would admit that often we try to figure out the
answer for the Lord. We tell Him we know what should or should not be done. But the scripture clearly says that 'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways". [Isaiah 55:8]
But, true to human form, we still think we can tell God the answer, and give Him direction. If we would learn to depend on God more, and ask him for direction in every facet of our lives-even the little things, we would
find that we could know the answers without guesswork.
God's Thoughts:
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we need spiritual guidance in our lives, but often times want to do things on our own. Help us to rely completely on you and your Word to lead, guide, and direct us in the paths of righteousness. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
