Making Choices
Our Thoughts:
If you've ever been shopping with a woman, you know we all have problems making choices, at times. If you've never gone
with a woman shopping, then you would certainly be in for a treat, and you've missed the greatest excitement of your life!
Women know exactly how to check out every piece of clothing, jewelry, makeup - whatever, and then replace them all back on the shelves, to go home without finding one thing she likes!
I know, I am one! I've shopped until I dropped, only to go home empty handed. Well, that's not too bad; after all, the checkbook isn't flat!
All people make bad choices at one time another. It might be in choosing a friend, a mate, the house you live in, accepting the wrong job, or perhaps even turning down something that you would have
been better off with. I know this lady that will go shopping, just to go shopping. She doesn't need a thing, especially more clothing! Yet, she will buy and then go home and hang them on a rack, never to wear them.
What we do, after making a bad choice, is what makes up the kind of person we are. If we act responsible, and accept the fact of what we've done, and ask God to help us, we will heal quicker. The mistake
won't haunt us for years, and kept us dragged down into the pit.
Making a choice to follow God is the one choice that is right for each of us, and never wrong. Some may heed the call of the Holy Spirit at a young age, some older, and some will never answer the call. But,
it's all our choice. God sent His Son, to die for all our sins; yet all of us won't accept that free gift of Grace that He has offered. Some will, again, make a bad choice, and never surrender their lives to the Lord, so
He can help shape and mold their lives into a vessel of honor. They will be shaped by this world, and perhaps go out of this life, never realizing what a change God could have made for them. Then, it is too late - the enemy has
won - they then know they have made the 'wrong choice'.
God's Thoughts:
2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, choices are ours to make freely. Help us to know which to make and which to reject. We give you the honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
