Oh Taste And See!

Our Thoughts:

How our mouth waters when we see the donut signs or perhaps the Baskin Robbins ice cream shop, or any chocolate candy bar! Our taste buds will go crazy, when we treat it to the one thing that brings it joy. I'm not really into the chocolate scene, although I love to eat it occasionally. But, I'm not a chocoholic, like my friend. When she gets stressed out, she sends me emails, telling me she is ready for the chocolate ice cream she knows she doesn't need. And, it's for sure, need or not, if it's there, she's probably going to down as much as she feels like. After all, it makes her 'feel good', the taste buds are satisfied, for a time, and perhaps it does help to mask the feelings of stress. I don't know - never been that bad off for chocolate.

There are lots of things that the flesh tells you to 'taste and see' if it's not good - cigarettes, liquor, gambling, adultery, among others. And, if you aren't close to God, then the flesh will win out. The enemy whispers 'it's not wrong', 'nobody will know', 'who cares what you do', or any of a number of things that he has on his side, when you aren't where you should be with God. He doesn't tell you the ramifications of smoking, drinking alcohol, gambling away your money and becoming addicted, or cheating on your spouse which may get you some disease and ruin your marriage. He doesn't care! He only wants to WIN in your life.

What had you rather taste - the aftermath of a wayward life in the flesh, or a life led by God and the Holy Spirit, which gets you life eternal with Him? The enemy isn't crazy. He watches us daily, to see where are weaknesses are, and he will do everything to slip into our lives there. And, if you give him an inch, he will take a mile. So, why not 'taste' what the Lord has for you, rather than checking out the enemy's territory, where you are sure to find unhappiness, grief and pain? Oh, he's not going to let you know that at first. Only when you are in his grip, does he reveal you've been lied to, tricked into believing a lie! IF you don't know HIM, why not try Him today, put Him to the TEST and see how good God really can be in your life!!
