Soaring With God
Our Thoughts:
As our children are growing up, we teach them how to grow into a responsible adult. Hopefully, our actions are teaching them the same thing that we are trying to get across in words. Children watch the ways of their parents. It should not be a 'do as I say do' relationship, but a 'do as I do' relationship with your child. Telling them one thing, but doing another, only makes for an awkward situation. The child is sent a double message, and it won't know which way is the correct way.
Eagles teach their young by doing in front of them. They do this over and over, until the young eagles can manage on their own. They train them so that the little ones will imitate what the parents do. The eagle, like the child, trusts the parent to teach them the way of survival. As they learn to fly, they began going short distances, and each time, they get a little farther away, until they are soaring in the sky.
We can soar to new heights with God, just as the eagle soars. We must pay close attention to what He says, and follow after Him. He will take us places we've never been before, and show us things we've never known.
God's Thoughts:
Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
Our Cup:
Lord, I want to soar to new heights with you. Help me stay focused on you and in your Word. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
