The Bride July 6, 2001
Our Thoughts:
Today is our anniversary. Many years ago, I was the bride. It was such an exciting day, just knowing I was soon going to be the wife of the man I loved. When my husband and I married, it was forever in our minds. Today, just as it was thirty seven years ago, we still remain the same - in love, and together forever. Not many marriages last a lifetime. People change and think they need to 'shed' the partner they are with, and get another. The grass appears 'greener' over on the other side. What they fail to see is that all grass appears greener, when it's in the other yard. But both yards GROW, and needed weeding. It's the weeding we don't want to do - just go check out the other yard, instead of cleaning our own yard. Changes are good; we grow up in a marriage. Both partners change, although I am sure each of us would like to think that's not so on our part. But, that doesn't make it not so. But, we can learn to adapt to each other's change, and make a marriage better. True love will continue; infatuation will die.
God has a BRIDE - the CHURCH, made up of all born-again Christians. And, the BRIDE has to be 'in love' with GOD. There won't be any infatuation, no luke warm bride, unbelievers, unfaithful, but only those that have a true relationship with the Father. So, get ready, Church! The Lord is coming for His Bride one day, and He will be coming for those that have have not 'spot or wrinkle' [Ephesians 5:17]. He's coming for His TRUE LOVE!
God's Thoughts:
Song of Solomon 6:3 I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.
Song of Solomon 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, only you can help us keep ourselves clean for your soon appearing. Help us to be watching and waiting for your return. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
