Daily Dose of God's Word At Barbara's Entourage
Walking The Walk August 2, 2001 Our Thoughts:
I've been very lenient on my exercise in the past. But, lately, my husband and I have decided to get back to walking. We have lots of open land, so he mowed us a path on which to walk. Every evening, after we have eaten, we go out and make three or four rounds, walking
on flat land and also climbing a big hill. The hill almost gets me down, but I am determined to be able to climb it with no problems. I want to get my legs and body in good shape.
There are many who claim to be Christians 'talking the talk', but not 'walking the walk'. One can know the Bible inside out, quote it from daylight to dusk, but never have a personal
relationship with God. There's a little children's song that talks about serving God, and it says, "you will surely show it". How true! Others should be able to see Jesus in us. We should be as the Bible says, a 'new creature
in Christ', and we should be different than we were, when we weren't living a sinless life. Our outlook on life is different, and we no longer want the same things. Our conversation changes from worldly things to Godly things. We want
to share Christ with others. But, if none of this is showing in your life, are you truly 'walking the walk' of faith?
God's Thoughts:
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight)
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we want to serve you with all our being. Help us to walk in the way of righteousness. Keep us from the worldly ways. We give you praise.
In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
