I know you must be wondering 'has this lady lost her mind?', right? Well, not really. But, lots of people are definitely on a 'shoestring' budget, believe me! Taxes, groceries, and gas are all sky high. Everything a child needs for school -clothes,shoes, has gotten out of sight.
If a Mom has to work and put a child in daycare, that is high as well. Most people have to get along on meager wages, and some things are out of reach for them. Wages don't go up when taxes, gas, and clothes go up.
Even on a shoestring budget, faith is free. You only have to 'practice' faith, not pay for it. You have to put your trust fully in the risen Savior, Jesus Christ. When you find yourself wondering how you will pay for the next meal, the next tank of gas, or those medical bills, remember
God is waiting on you to place your trust in Him. We shouldn't be looking at our circumstances, but placing our trust in God and His promises. Our circumstances can be bleak, and get us depressed in a hurry. But, if we decide to place our faith where it works - in Christ - then our circumstances can
become a thing of the past, and nothing to worry about. Even if our wallet becomes flat, and the money isn't replenished quickly enough, we should never look backwards, but always forwards. Each of us has a grain of mustard seed faith - it's what we do with it that counts! You can either say you have
faith, but never show it, or you can exercise your faith.
God's Thoughts:
Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, sometimes our faith wanes, and we forget to trust in you. The enemy knows when our faith is weak and comes to call. You know our faults and our weaknesses. Help us to trust you in all we do. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
