Being Friends

2000  Our Thoughts:
To often we speak as anyone we know as a friend. But a true friend is one who is there whenever you need them. They help
you out in a bind, and you know you can call upon them when you have a problem.
A friend is someone in whom you can trust and you have close ties.
We visited the hospital Sunday to be with close friends. His Dad was dying and we felt we needed to show
them our support. And tonight, we visited that same family, but for a different reason. His Dad passed away last night, and
we knew we were needed. Oh, they didn't 'call and ask' - we just knew we needed to be there, and it meant so much to them.
To have these kind of friends, you must show yourself friendly. There is one, though, that is the truest friend
we will ever have. His name is JESUS; he gave his life for us. We need to be more like him.
God's Thoughts:
Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us to be the kind of person our friends need. Help us to be able to be compassionate, trusting, and know when we
are needed, without having to be told. We know that Jesus knows our every need, and he's there as our closest friend. Teach us to be more like him. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.
