Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntouragePrayer Is The Key
Our Thoughts:
Insomnia is not something I have very often. Last night, I spent the first hour, after going to bed, coughing. After
getting the coughing stopped, I dropped off to sleep for an hour, waking up hot. I was unable to go back to sleep because the Lord kept giving me the words 'prayer is the key'. Then came
the scripture, 'the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much'. This is a verse that He has often given me in time of trials. I know it works!
The power of prayer is proved throughout the ministry of Elijah. He was a man who was obedient to God in His service to him, walking in His commandments, and His will. When
He prayed, prayers were answered. But, we don't look to the merit of man but to the grace of God. If we, like Elijah, will pray the prayer of faith in our prayers, we will hear from God.
In His Word, he says for us to 'seek the Lord and his strength; seek his face continually'. [I Chronicles 16:11]
It's very important, in these days of anger towards the terrorists, to pray. And, when you pray, pray the Word. Scripture says that 'it shall not return unto me void'. [Isaiah 55:11]
Prayer will be comfort to your heart and it will bring answers.
God's Thoughts:
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us, in these times of trouble, to pray effectively. Lord, we need answers, and comfort to the hearts of those that have been
touched by this tragedy in New York and Washington DC. We thank you for your love and give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
