Don't Lose Hope

Our Thoughts:

I've had many emails concerning the bombings of last Tuesday in New York and Washington, D.C. Some were concerned that 'God let this happen.' They were confused that He wouldn't protect His people, and such a tragedy occurred, killing so many innocent people.

We have to understand GOD didn't do this; terrorists did - those that are against what we stand for in this country. They don't understand our commitment to peace and tranquility. We also have to understand that, although God didn't do this, that He will let things happen in order to bring us closer to Him. Our GOD is a loving God. Just as our parents try and bring us back under their protection, so does God. Men stray - these terrorists went beyond the scope of our imaginations with the feeling that we Americans are their enemies - that we are an evil nation, not living a true spiritual life. True, our nation has strayed from the ways of God. We've removed God from public places - the schools and work places. We are told it's wrong to pray at athletic events, schools,etc., because it might 'offend' someone. We have to move beyond the offense issue and get to the bottom of our problems. Removing God has let tragedy strike. Our country was founded on Godly values, but we have let ourselves be dragged into the notion it's not 'politically correct' to mention GOD outside our own circles. All of us don't worship alike, but rest assured, ALL of us on this planet earth got here the same way, by the same God! And that GOD wants all of us to return to Him.

God doesn't like what's going on anymore than we do. But, until this nation comes back to Him, begins to let their lives be guided by Him, we will continue to see destruction. Our nation is already plagued with useless deaths brought about by our own society. Our children are killing children. Doesn't that tell you that God is missing in lots of lives?

We have to realize we can't leave God out of our plans, and expect Him to watch over us. It's like moving out of our parent's home, but thinking they are going to protect us in our new surroundings. They have no control over us anymore, and can't watch out for us as they did when we were in their home. It's the same with God. If we remove ourselves from His protective covering, doing the things that we want to do, never giving Him a thought, then He won't be there when we need Him. We can't give lip service to Him, and expect protection. We have to devote our lives to serving a one true and loving God, Jesus Christ, and not being ashamed to let others see HIM in us. We need to share the gospel with others, to cause them to want what we have in our personal lives. We need to be a light to others, showing them the way to a perfect and peaceful life with Him. So, don't lose hope. Where GOD is, there is always HOPE everlasting.
