His Spirit Working Within Us

Our Thoughts:

What started out as a pleasure trip to Branson, Missouri, on September 24, turned out to be a nightmare on Friday, September 28, the day of our return. Most of you know that I broke my hip in a freak accident. I was operated on Monday afternoon, and had a partial hip replacement - I no longer am ALL my own - some bone is now missing. And, believe me, it's very unnerving for someone that has never had to depend on anyone for anything.

God always works in mysterious ways. We don't always see the good for the bad. But, through the Spirit, I discerned that I had a very caring surgeon who was about to operate on me. I had met him before, but not for myself, and had no idea of his spiritual life or lack of it. But, in the first meeting with him concerning my accident, I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he was on the same line with God that I was. I believe God revealed this to me for my peace of mind.

Each of us have things that God needs to teach us. With me, I question, at times, if I'm fully doing what he wants. So, I know the Lord sent this surgeon to let me realize HE is in charge, and I am living a life that's pleasing to Him. Without Him, I could do nothing, but, with Him, all things are possible.

Friday morning before I was discharged, this percious, humble Christian surgeon came to my room to talk JESUS! He humbley bowed at my chair n his knees, and talked for over an hour. I know he was trying to make amends for how he made me feel the day before, but GOD was teaching me a thing or two through him. He gently let me in on his Christian service for JESUS. He told me what a 'pitiful person' he was, how he had done all the wrong things before becoming to God. But, he said JESUS made all the difference. Even now, things might not be perfect, but he knows that JESUS will always be there to help him through every day, through every operation, through every problem of life. There's nothing too difficult for JESUS. I sat there amazed that this big DOCTOR was telling me these things, but I agreed. I knew that Jesus was letting him testify to me, to let me know what I felt in the Spirit was true, and GOD was still on the throne!

God's Thoughts:

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, we sometimes get complacent in our walk with you, and there comes a wake up call. I thank you for the Spirit within me, that showed me what I had in a surgeon. I thank you, Lord, for the his testimony to me. I ask that you lead, guide and direct his steps all the way, that he will truly be a servant unto you. I give you praise, honor, and glory. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
