Our Thoughts:
I've always taken for granted the things I could do. I never gave a thought to an accident happening to me that would incapacitate me at all. It
just wasn't in my thinking. Since my hip surgery, I've learned there are certain things I can't do that I did before. There are limitations on my ability to function exactly like I did before. Each day brings
something new, and it is easier to do more and more, gaining on the ability to be back one hundred percent as I once was.
The devil is right there on my shoulder, telling me the 'do's and don't's', reminding me what the Doctor had said. 'You won't be able to lead the life you did before'. You know his routine; he's
a master at his trade. But I know a Master above all masters, a physician above all physicians, one in whom we can place our trust will all confidence. If it's in His Word, then He meant it, and He will do it.
I know there are miracles out there, and I feel certain that I am one of those miracles. Things the devil meant for harm, God will use for His glory. His Word was in my mouth, and the moment I was alone with my
husband in my hospital room that first night, racked with pain, I asked for the Bible. I didn't care what he opened it up to - just let me read the Word. I could hardly see the pages, but in those Words, I found comfort.
The Words in my heart began to rise up within me, bringing me the blessed assurance that Jesus is Real - He is Alive - He will bring me through. Take comfort in the fact that His Word works - I'm living proof!
God's Thoughts:
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us keep focused on you and your Word. Never let us get to the point that we feel we can do without our daily study of the Word. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
