Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageWhat Do You Fear?
October 19, 2001
Our Thoughts:
These days it is easy for fear to grip our hearts, if we aren't equipped to handle it. The bombings that was meant by the
terrorists to take away our security, and the threat of anthrax has made many people begin to fear the same thing might happen to them. And this is exactly what the enemy wants - for
the people to never be free to go about their daily lives as they have before. They want us to be ever fearful of where we go and what we do.
Common sense should always be in the forefront of our minds, to stop us from doing crazy things that would put us in danger, and also keep us abreast of our surroundings. But,
somehow common sense was missing when the terrorists slipped on to those planes. We will always wonder how they got through security. Who and how will always be in our minds, and some will continue
to fear that it will happen again.
Fear will paralyze a person or a nation. But the scripture says for us not to fear, to place our lives in the hands of God, and he will take care of us.
For a non-Christian, this may sound crazy. But, for a Christian, this is how we are to live our lives. We need to stay in the Word, get it deep within our Spirit, and when fear wants to take over, we
know the Word and we should speak the Word. If the enemy is let get hold of us, then we will live our lives in fear, and that need not be. But, pray, speak to God, and give Him all those feelings, and
trust that HE is true to His Word, and that he will never leave nor forsake His people.
God's Thoughts:
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, there is so much happening today that it would be easy to get over into fear and worry. But Your Word says not to fear, to be of good courage, that
you will take care of us. Thank you for seeing that Your people are taken care of and that you will never forsake us. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
