Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageI'll Be Vocal!
Our Thoughts:
Do you ever pass up the chance to cheer the ball team on? I can remember back in my school days and those of my children,
when we would jump with ever run of the football toward the end zone. There are no words worthy of how we acted, when there was a touch down made for our team. I got
so excited at times, and hollered so much, that I would get lightheaded, and feel like I was going to fall off the bleachers! Now that's excitement.
Do you pass up any chance to show God that He is worthy of our praise? Do you 'worship' Him in silence? Are you afraid of 'losing your dignity'? A man, on a
Christian forum, back at the beginning of my internet days, once told me that we should never lose our dignity in worshipping God. He said we should be dignified - in other words -
never raise your hands, keep your mouth shut and never say AMEN to the sermons. Of course, being the vocal person I am, and the compassion with which I serve my GOD, I had to say,
"YOU have to be kidding!" But, of course, he wasn't. I can assure you that he and I weren't brought up in the same atmosphere or environment, when it came to knowing GOD as our personal
Savior, or the ability to give GOD praise whereever I am.
If you are one of those that CHEER to the top of your voice at a secular ballgame, and you profess to be a Christian, then, it shouldn't bother you to be vocal for your
Lord! He isn't ashamed of our being vocal, of losing our 'dignity'. I never want to be accused of 'sitting on the bench' and stifling the Holy Spirit. IF I can holler for the players,
then how much more should I praise the LORD, vocally!
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, as long as I have a voice, I will praise you aloud. Help others to see that raising hands and Amens are welcome in your environment. There are those that will misuse anything, so help us to discern between those that rightfully will praise you
vocally, or those that would make fun, in your name. We will be careful to give you all honor and praise due your precious name. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
