Bothered By Porn Emails?

Our Thoughts:

We are living in a time where pornography has gotten a hold of our society like never before. It's more than the magazines that you see at the counter, or the shows watched behind 'closed doors'. Now, the internet is filled with the filth, and it has drifted into our emails as well. A good friend of mine just asked for prayer this morning because she feels she is being seeked out by the porn people. She is continously getting those nasty emails. This morning is was almost more than she could bear, when an email automatically opened up in her browser with dirty pictures! I know the feeling, for it has happened to me.

We, as individuals, can't stop this flow of pornography. We can turn the email addresses over to the abuse people at our individual ISP's or to the one from which the offending emails come. But, that won't stop them. As I told my friend, they change email addresses for their filth faster than we change clothes! The enemy is out there and means to keep on doing this. They don't view it as pornography. Their minds are sealed against any wrong doing. To them, it's fun - their minds have been seared and this stuff doesn't affect them whatsoever.

The one thing that we can do is pray for conviction over the workers of evil. Pray that God will touch their hearts in a way, that they will turn to Him and quit their ways of evil doing. We, ourselves, need to also think on good things. Don't let the enemy bother you with this stuff! Put it in the 'trash can' and don't look back! The enemy can't hurt you with this smut, unless you let him. And, when we let the enemy know that certain things bother us, that is where he is going to continue to hit us. There's not a day that goes by that I don't get dozens of these 'sex' emails, but I choose to put them where they belong - the 'incinerator' of my computer! But, I know there are people who's curosity gets the better of them, and they will click to see what it's all about. Don't! This is what they want! They then have your address and will continue to send you smut! I told my friend that we need to pray over our computers, dedicate them to God, and let Him keep us from all evil. God can protect us from such things.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, the enemy is on the rampage with his filth. Help us to keep our minds stayed on you and the good things of this life, that we won't be drawn over into the enemy's territory. Keep us from all evil. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
