Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageConcern OR Worry?
October 31, 2001
Our Thoughts:
The media is keeping the anthrax situation in front of the cameras, minute by minute. Unbeknowing to them, they
are aiding the enemy in worrying half the population with fear of death, due to anthrax. Sure, this is a serious situation, and shouldn't be ignored.
We should take caution in everything we do - be aware of things and people around us. But, we can't live our lives in fear of something that may never happen. I
recall the time my husband was in Vietnam. That was a terrible place and a bad war to be in, especially given he was in a helicopter rescue unit! I could have
taken on that fear of loss, but I chose to give my care to the Lord. I trusted Him that He would bring my husband home without a scar, and He did!
God is here for us throughout any situation. He wants to be the first One that we call upon. Man can only do so much, but God can protect us
from anything man can do. But, as scripture says in James 1:8,'a double minded man is unstable in all his way'. We have to put our full trust in God, that He
can handle the situation, before it becomes a hazard. We need to pray against all the things we are hearing on television about the proposed strikes against our
nation. Don't let the enemy get hold of your Spirit, and make you doubt the power of God!
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 9:9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Psalms 60:11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Psalms 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, the world has become a hazardous place to live, with scares constantly at the forefront. But, as a Christian, I know
you are able to shield us from anything man can bring upon us. I have faith that the enemy be stopped, and our nation can once again enjoy the freedom we once did. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
