Oh! Wild Turkeys!

dotOur Thoughts:

I live in the country, but it's not too often you wake up to a flock of wild turkeys in your yard. Our two oldest grandchildren were spending the night, so they got to see them. My husband and the kids all rushed out, with camera in hand, to view the unnatural sight. There were four turkeys, and none of them acted as though humans bothered them. They went on their merry way, feeding as they went, through the yard. They worked their way all the way across the yard to the front, to the road and in the pasture. Then, they all turned, coming back the way they went, and into the woods in the back yard. Once before, we had seen one wild turkey, but this was a first, in all our years living here, to see that many at one time.

Sins are like wild turkeys. Unless you do something about a sin, it keeps creeping into your life, a little at a time, until it's bigger than you ever thought it would be. When you tell a 'little' lie, it will get bigger in time, because you have to tell another one to cover that one up. The enemy knows just how to draw you farther and farther into sin, and it gets harder and harder to get out. Unless you have the Master over sin in your life, then, the enemy knows where and when to attack. Make Jesus the Lord of your life, lean on Him, and let Him direct your paths. Never give the enemy an entrance into your life. But, if you do fail, don't despair. Go straight to Him, confess your sin. He is the greatest lawyer there is!

dotGod's Thoughts:

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, sometimes we slip and fall. But, help us to get back on our feet, and acknowledge that, by your Spirit, we can overcome anything the enemy sends our way. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
