Daily Dose of God's Word
At Barbara's Entourage
Power In Bloom Our Thoughts:
Spring is in the air; flowers are blooming! And, if you're a person who loves flowers, and has been used to having them
in your yards all your life, then you are wanting to plant them now.
I spent this morning in a nursery with my Mother, picking out hanging baskets and single flowers to plant.
Mother is used to having loads of flower beds, hanging baskets, and single pots of flowers on her patios and in her yard.
She loves the beauty of flowers and wants to look out her kitchen door onto the patio with blooms everywhere. And, in the morning,
once again, she will have that ability. Every color imaginable almost, and lots of flowers are now blooming in her back yard.
Flowers have periods when they lay dormant. Some live only for a little while, and then die. Others come up every year.
They bloom for only a season. They seem to strive for a time, but quickly 'fade away'.
Unlike flowers, the Word endureth forever. We may not see it 'blooming' in our lives, or in others, but the Word is
forever true, always there. We choose to read and meditate the Word, or we choose to ignore it. But nothing makes the Word go away.
It was, is, and always will be the true Holy Word, upon which we should be standing, for our daily life bread. The grass withereth, the flower dies,
but the Holy Word lives forever!!
God's Thoughts:
1 Peter 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we know you made the beautiful flowers for us to admire. Although they are to be admired, they
have no power. Help us achieve the power set forth in your Word for every Christian, the kind that cometh only by heeding your commandments. We give you praise! In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.
