Over One More Hurdle
November 21, 2001

dotOur Thoughts:

We watch the competitors in the 100 yard dashes or any of the foot races around a track, come to the hurdles placed before them. Most of those competitors will top those hurdles without a thought. They seem to just 'sail' over them with little or not effort! This comes from years of practice and taking part in those competitions.

I've had many hurdles to overcome since my hip surgery. And, this morning, I overcame another one of those hurdles - putting on a sock. Doesn't seem like much to most of you, I am sure. But, believe me, when you've been used to doing everything for yourself, yet aren't able to put on a little sock, it's tough on the mind. Makes you feel weak. Oh, I understand I had a reason for not being able to do this simple task; nevertheless, it still wasn't easy to accept. But, this morning, I decided to try again. I managed to raise the foot far enough towards me, and use a device for picking up small articles, and managed to get that sock on that foot!! Praise the Lord - another hurdle managed!

Do you have hurdles in your life with which you need help? Are there problems that are making you literally sick, because you can't solve them? There's a place you can go to get help - to God. There's nothing that He isn't eager to help you with, whether it be small or large. He wants to bring peace to your mind. Why not go to God, give him your burdens, and let Him manage your life? There's nothing you are going through that He can't handle.

dotGod's Thoughts:

Psalms 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, there are many who have hurdles too hard to overcome by themselves. Help them realize that You are waiting for them to ome to you for the help they need. You are able to get them over any hurdle, large or small. We give you thanks and praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
