Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageThe Day After
Our Thoughts:
Crazy title? Not really, since we have many 'day afters'. Today is the day 'after' Thanksgiving. Yesterday, you were deep in
'turkey' and all the trimmings. Probably your family was home for the day, and the grandkids were underfoot. Some of you sat before the television, watching the Macy's Day Parade, or
perhaps your favorite football team. No matter what you did, you probably all enjoyed the day of good food, fellowship, and laughter.
Today is the 'day after', and perhaps many of you woke up with a tummyache because you ate too much yesterday. Others woke up to loneliness. You don't get to see your children or
grandchildren except on holidays, and so today is very lonesome. They've gone until the next holiday. Perhaps you are sick in body and nobody is there to help. Many of you have a hard time facing
any tomorrow. But, look up, there is help for you all.
The Lord made this day in which we are to rejoice. You say, 'rejoice for what'? There are alternatives to 'being here' today. I know each of us are happy that we are alive. We should be
giving God the thanks He deserves for letting us wakeup to a new day, a day in which to praise Him for what He has done in our lives, and what He is about to do in our lives. Too many times, we get on the
pity party and forget to whom we owe it all. Without Him, we are nothing, but with Him, we can do all things. So rejoice today, that GOD has let you live to see another day in which you can spread the
gospel, reaping the rewards of being an obedient servant.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, many don't feel like rejoicing, but You are able to put that feeling back in their spirits, to raise them to new heights with You. Give each of them a feeling of worth, and help them give you the praise you so deserve. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
