Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageAre Things What They Seem?
Our Thoughts:
This morning, I received two things, although not remotely having anything to do with the other - both were talking about the same thing!
In a morning devotional, the writer talked about the miracle of protection that surrounded Elisha, when the king of Syria was out to kill him. Elisha's servant couldn't 'see' the army of angels that God had sent
to protect them from death.
Next, I received an email with an article by Gary North, in which he talked about 'believing is seeing'. But, he was speaking of people, not only believing what they saw, but, actually thinking they
had seen something when they hadn't actually seen it at that time. Our natural eye can be deceiving, just as in Elisha's servant's case. But, Elisha prayed that the servant's spiritual eyes be opened, and he saw the
angels and chariots of fire that were in the mountains, and he was no longer afraid.[2 Kings 6:15-20]
Our natural eyes see one thing, but our spiritual eyes see something else. We need to feed our Spirit, in order to be able to see clearly through the problems that face us daily. Something may appear to be
bad, but, with God and the Holy Spirit, things may change rapidly. Remember, the Lord is always with us, through good and bad, and through thick and thin!
God's Thoughts:
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, our natural eyes see things that make us afraid. Open our spiritual eyes that we might see what you hold in the future for these situations that come our way. Help us to know that you are always with us,
regardless of what comes our way. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
