Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageIt's All In The Poinsettias!
Our Thoughts:
This is supposed to be the most glorious time of the year. People get excited about Christmas way back in July! The stores now
start their Christmas decorations way before Thanksgiving. And, the toys begin to overflow into the aisles, moving things you once were able to find with ease. But, what has happened
to us?
I've been reading ezine news this morning. There has been, for a long time, a fight about keeping Christ out of the schools. But, now, there seems to be an opinion by which Christmas is
kept out of the schools in one region altogether! But, there's a new twist! There's been a fight going on in a town in Minnesota about poinsettas being put out for the holidays. It 'might offend' someone! Can you imagine
a flower offending? Goodness! WHAT has this society come to? We remove Christ from the schools and public property because 'someone might be offended'. We now have to remove flowers from public property because those same people
might be offended!! Well, folks, there was a compromise. Where there once was 'RED' poinsettias, there are now 'WHITE' poinsettias. Something wrong with that?
Red signifies the blood of Jesus. If we aren't 'washed' in the blood of Christ, then our Christmas will not be a glorious one. We may enjoy a good time, but lack the joy life with Him can bring. White signifies purity. Once we are
washed in the blood of Christ', we put off the old man and put on the new - we are a 'new creature' in Him. [2 Corn 5:17] Reading the article this morning made me think 'red and white'. They may remove any mention of Christ, and they may remove the
red poinsettias. But, there will always be a symbol of Him wherever you go - even in the white poinsettias! We will never get away from God. As the saying goes, 'you can run, you can hide, but you will never get away from God'. He sees you wherever you are.
And his judgment will be upon our heads, regardless. Those that prefer to 'remove' Him will have to answer to Him. I prefer to leave CHRIST in Christmas, and enjoy the season. How about you?
God's Thoughts:
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, seems almost everything offends someone. It has come down to the poinsettas. We know they can never remove you completely. Help us keep you alive in the midst of the confusion, even if in
white poinsettas. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
