Our Thoughts:
It's hard when we lose a loved one, knowing we will never see them in this life again. We've been left behind to
deal with life without that person, whether it be a spouse, child, parent, relative, or friend. It hurts very much, knowing how much we love them, not to be able to tell them that anymore,
or hug or kiss them - talk with them anytime we want. We just attended a viewing of a friend at the funeral home last night, and it was sad to see the faces of those she left behind - a husband, two sons, and several grandchildren. They'll never
be able to see her in this life again, and it registered on those faces.
Life doesn't seem to be fair at times, taking the ones we love. Some lash out at God, wanting to know why He takes someone we love. Each of us have this duty in life, and each of
us will no doubt leave behind someone to grieve our death. But, the one thing we should be guarding against is being 'left behind' when the Lord returns for His people. Know that you have been redeemed from the
'curse of the law' [Gal 3:13], through the blood of Jesus Christ, and that you have received life everlasting by accepting his free gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
God's Thoughts:
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for your Son, Jesus, who bore our sins on the cross that we might live with you eternally. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
