Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageLosing Connection?
Our Thoughts:
Life is about 'making connections'. We connect [ establish a relationship or rapport with ] with people. We connect [hit or play successfully] with sports. We connect [make our schedules successfully] between transportations, such as planes, trains, or buses.
When we begin to lose our connections, is when our life takes on a new status. Our daily routines are messed up, when our schedules can't connect. When we begin to lose the friendships that we've had over the years, we begin to wonder what we've done to cause this. Is it something I've said, or perhaps it's the other person pulling away. Either way, we begin to worry.
Worry brings doubt about ourselves. Of course the enemy is right there to agitate you more!
No matter how much we try, we can't clear this up by ourselves. Sometimes, in trying to do so, we just make matters worse. A friend has been wondering why certain long-time friends have gradually grown away from us. Her husband says that 'friendships are for a time'. Actually, I want to think nothing is wrong, and that
the friends just have to have time for themselves right now. And, when their 'crisis' is over, they will be right back in the swing of things - just as sharing and caring as always. But, then, there's the enemy, trying to make us wallow in self-pity! Don't do it! There is one who can relieve you of all the pain you feel from the
lost connections! He is Jesus Christ. He said, if you have a burden, bring it to Him. There is no need to get on a pity party, or deny yourself the luxury of having contact with people. He is able to give you peace over all these situations, no matter how hard it has hit you, or how bad you think the situation to be. Life isn't a
bed of 'no-thorn roses'.......the thorns are there. We just have to know how to get around the thorns and live our life in peace and harmony. JESUS is the answer; call on Him today!
God's Thoughts:
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, only you know how to successfully remove the thorns in our lives. Help us to come to you for the peace that only you can give! We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
