Count The Cost

Our Thoughts:

We built our home over a period of years, having had it roughed in by a building crew. We had figured about how much it would cost to build our home, and wanted to own it without a mortgage. We had figured the cost, and was prepared to endure what it would take to build our home. We saved everything we could, working to finish our home on our own, without a big debt that would loom over us for years.

Too many people will start something, not counting the cost, and not realizing the consequences of not being prepared to handle what comes later. It might be a relationship, building a home, taking a new job, or even traveling. If you aren't prepared for each of these, then you could be in for a great awakening!

We must 'count the cost', when we begin to live for the Lord. Salvation is free, but we must mortify our sins. A sinner is no match for God, and a Christian cannot be a habitual sinner, and expect God never to be angry. We must discipline ourselves to learn from our prior mistakes, and never make the same ones over again.
