 Our Thoughts:
The breath of life was breathed into us by God. Gen 2:7 says that he 'formed man of the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life'.
Without that breath, we'd be only a chunk of earth, lifeless, without the ablility to do anything.
Just as He breathed that first breath into us, He expects us to continue that 'breath of life', by studying the Word, and getting it deep within us. As we study and read, we need to 'speak' the word -
EXHALE - so that our ears may hear the Word. Each time we speak the Word, and we INHALE, it becomes more and more real to us. After a time of 'speaking the Word' to our own ears, it becomes BREATH of LIFE within us,
and we will continue to EXHALE, each time we need assurance that God's Word really works. It is just our second nature to let 'come out' what 'goes in'.
I know you've heard the saying, 'garbage in-garbage out'. We
never want to take in 'garbage', so that's why we need the WORD within us to reject the 'garbage' that so freely flows in the world today. With the Word, we are able to distinguish between what is right and what is
wrong, what is garbage and what is 'treaure' for our soul. So start today 'inhaling and exhaling' the Word, and make that well within you bubble up and flow freely!
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 34:13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalms 119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, just as we breath to live our natural life, help us to inhale and exhale the Word daily, to grow spiritually. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
