Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's Entourage'Trouble In The Amen Corner'
Our Thoughts:
My husband was playing some gospel songs tonight and he began 'Trouble In The Amen Corner'.
Some may not know this song. But, it was about Brother Ira, an old white-headed man, who loved to worship the Lord with songs. He may not have had the best voice, or the right
pitch to sing, but he enjoyed singing to the Lord in the choir. But, along came a 'new day', a 'new style', a new choir, that didn't like the way Brother Ira sang. He sang too high,
to loud, out of tune, old gospel songs from years ago - he no longer 'fit in' for the make up of the choir.
I am sure many can relate to this story of Brother Ira. You had the zeal, you loved to sing the old hymns, but in moved the 'new style', the 'new era', the 'new thing'..... or
whatever your church may have called it. Things changed, people were replaced, as were the song books and the music used. The 'OLD' was removed, and the 'NEW' was put in place - the people of
yester years were forgotten because 'now it's time for the young to take over'.
Brother Ira was in the former, and he was replaced. Oh, it hurt his feelings, made him weep because he was no longer good enough to sing in the choir. He was no longer free to lift his voice to
the sky and sing to God within the church bounds. But, one day, he passed on, and he was then singing for the glory of the Lord, in a land where there are no committees to make demands, nobody to say your
voice isn't just right to sing in the choir. God's choir will sing 'to the glory of the Lord', raise their voice in praise to the Lamb of God. There will be nobody to sit you down, if your voice isn't just right,
because it will be 'music to his ears'.
If you have had trouble in the 'amen corner', things have changed, and people are giving you trouble about your worship, turn to the Lord. Do not get under bondage! Keep worshipping the Lord and give your burdens
over the situation to Him. He will bring you through victoriously!
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for removing the bondage of man from my life. I give you thanks for giving me the ability to freely worship you without fear of what man will do. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
