Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageI Need Rest!
Our Thoughts:
Do you wake up in the morning as tired as you were when you went to bed? Since my surgery, it seems I never get enough rest.
I toss and turn lots during the night, and end up on my back. I've always had trouble sleeping on my back, and, when I get up, it's hurting. This morning was no different. Although I
know I slept hours, I could go back to bed and sleep more. My eyes never feel like they are truly rested. Yesterday morning, the only morning I had slept all night without waking up,
we were awakened just before five AM, to a wrong number. Oh, I went back to sleep, but I felt sleepy all day.
There's a spiritual rest from God in which we need to enter. If you are restless in your spiritual life, unsatisfied with what you have on your 'plate', you can find rest
in God. He will make all work to the good to us. When we are discontented in the spirit, it leaves us open to all kinds of temptations. Don't think the enemy isn't over there watching,
waiting for you to stop trusting God just that one moment! But, no matter how you feel in the natural, keep the faith! God is the only one that can bring true peace. He is the only one
that can help you through all the fear in your life. If you truly want rest, give all to God. Never lean to your own understanding [Proverbs 3:5], but ask God for your need. [Phil.:19]
There's nothing that He can't do for you. He loves His children, and He is waiting for you to call upon Him today.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we need rest more than ever before. We are living in a world of craftiness, unholiness, and there are temptations on
every hand. Help us to trust in you, rest in the hope of your grace that is sufficient for every need. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
