Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageHot Or Cold?
Our Thoughts:
The weather is very unpredictable, even for the seasoned weather man! We listen to the weather forecast, and then watch
the weather be different. This year, we haven't had much snow to even count; yet, they keep saying we are going to have snow. Perhaps one day we will. Our friends about
thirty-five minutes away got an inch of snow yesterday. I told her all we got was 'cold wind'!
Our winter weather has been anything but 'winter' this year. Oh, we've had a few very COLD days, but not like I think of winter. I remember, when I was a child,
that the winter was cold. You wore a big coat for several months. There was none of this thirty degrees one day and a long coat, and, then, the next day, it was seventy degrees,
an you put on short sleeves! Seriously, that's what has been happening this year. Makes me wonder how HOT the summer is going to be this year. I'm an 'inbetween' lover of the
climate; in other words, I like temperatures to be around seventy degrees, and I could stand that all year. But, I'm sure God has other plans for us, in order to make our world
what He wants it to be.
He has planned the salvation message this same way - the way He wants us to be. Oh, being 'inbetween' for me on the weather situation is fine, but not in my
living for God. He had rather us be either HOT or COLD, not lukewarm. We are either going to be 'complacent', or 'on fire' for God. God doesn't like those that 'live the life'
on Sunday, but, when Monday comes, you wouldn't know they were a child of God. HE wants you all day, every day. If we could come to understand that His good things come when we
give ourselves completely to Him, perhaps we would be more 'on fire' for His ministry. Are you 'on FIRE' for God, or has your stream dried up, and you are 'frozen' in your own ways?
God's Thoughts:
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, teach us how to hold on to you and your promises. Help us to be 'on fire' for the Kingdom of God. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
