Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageLaugh Or Cry?
Our Thoughts:
We often get into situations where we don't know whether to laugh, cry, or maybe just scream! Today was one of those
for me. Just sitting here, minding my own business, working on things for my web site, I suddenly hear this terrible noise! Right before my eyes,my machine shuts down! I figure,
well, there goes my harddrive! I knew what a time it would take to get it all back up and working, having to rebuild the harddrive and reinstall all my programs. That's not even
speaking about the loss of all the files, emails, addresses and all those things I've saved for so long! It's happened before, and I thought maybe it had happened again! I got up
and gave it to my husband, who finally got it all worked out. I didn't laugh or cry or scream ---- but I felt like doing all three! I was a little worried, though.
It's not always just our daily lives that make us unhappy. Sometimes, our spiritual lives make us want to laugh or cry---and yes, scream! We get upset because things didn't
go our way in the church; someone didn't hug our neck 'today'. Or, perhaps we were asked to do ONE more job in the church that we didn't have time to do -----scream? Or, perhaps things
went well. God has blessed us beyond our imagination, and, in realizing this, we began to laugh! I think laughter is good for the soul! I had much rather laugh than cry or scream. Hadn't you?
Life is never going to be a 'bed of roses'......without thorns. Thorns come and thorns go, but GOD is here to stay. He's here when you feel like crying. He's here when you feel like laughing.
He feels your pain and He laughs with you, when you are content. He doesn't want His children hurting. He wants us to be full of joy, feel peace and love.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Luke 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, many need uplifting today. Lord, give them reason to rejoice in your Name, to feel the joy once again. Help them get over the
trials they are going through and defeat the enemy in their lives. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
