Our Thoughts:
Yesterday, I watched as the children hunted Easter eggs. They would almost step all over the eggs in the flowers and along the
ground, running after the other child in front. Each thought the other one might find an egg, so they would 'follow', rather than go out on their own, hunting for themselves. One
might look right over an egg in his eyesight, yet see that 'far away' egg up high! Once child would have an egg in his sight, and tell the others he had seen it. But, the one following
might beat the first one to the egg, upsetting the child that had originally seen it.
When we come to Jesus, we should be following only after Him. But, some lose sight of the path to follow, by watching others. The path they follow seems to be so much better.
In other words, if 'Joe' can make it his way, why can't I? Does one ever stop to think that perhaps 'Joe' is on the wrong path? Just like the child that the others ran after might step right over the egg, the person following after
another person, might miss the mark. Just because he seems to be 'making it', is no assurance that
he is on the right path. Many people will be lost because they have chosen the wrong path, following after man, rather than following after Jesus.
We need to be like the child with the 'wide angle lens', that saw that egg far away. We need to be searching for Jesus, rather than looking at man and his accomplishments. That's only material wealth.
Following Jesus will lead you to the path of eternal life!
His Thoughts
1 Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us get our eyes off man and his accomplishments and get them on You and eternal life. Earthly accomplishments will pass away, but, life with you is eternal. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
