Take It To The Lord In Prayer

dotOur Thoughts:

So true are the words of the old hymn, 'Take It to the Lord In Prayer' by Vep Ellis.

Chorus:
Many are the heartaches that will come to you;
Keep your trust in Jesus, He will see you thru;
Never will you find a friend so kind and true;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

There is not a day goes by that something will bring trouble to your mind. Your heart aches as though it will break. But, there is always someone on Whom you can depend; His name is Jesus. Doesn't matter how bad the situation, or how small the ache, He will be there to help you through the pain and aches, and bring peace to a troubled mind.

When you are attacked by the enemy, and it will certainly come, remember to take it to the Lord in prayer. Prayer will change things. You may not see the answer immediately, or He may not answer exactly how you thought He would, but He will answer.

People can say hurtful things to you in person or in email, and don't realize how it will hurt. WORDS do sting! We say things and often don't realize that 'how they are said' may have a different effect on one. But, if you are unable to see a face, as in an email, then we certainly need to be careful what we say or try to relay to others. A friend got an email, supposedly written 'about her' to someone else - but, nevertheless, she was the recepient of the hurtful words. They might not have seemed so bad to the person saying them, but, it was certainly a sting to my friend. In the email, the person tried to 'soften' what she was saying by saying that 'it was all in God's strength'.....as though that justified everything else she had said. And, it was evident that she wanted my friend to see her comments. This is certainly a childish way to go about something. If you challenge something anyone has written or said, why not go politely to that person and discuss it, rather than letting them know via a written note to someone else? God certain IS the source of our strength, but He doesn't want us to abuse others in our quest for being 'more like Him'.

The next time you are hurt by someone's words or actions, remember that relief is just a prayer away! GOD will certainly bring you peace that passeth all understanding. You won't forget, but it will be easier to handle!

dotHis Thoughts

Psalms 20:6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, we don't realize how much words can hurt. Help us to speak only with your thoughts, not words of anger. Help us to pray before answering another's comments, so that we won't be guilty of the same thing that another does to us. Give us words to say that will not sting, if we feel we need to speak to someone. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
