Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageOut On A Limb
Our Thoughts:
To literally be 'out on a limb' is very scarey. I know; I've been there. I was the second child, between two very active brothers. What they did,
their sister followed! I remember, when I was probably around seven or eight, my older brothers and the neighborhood boys decided to climb a tree over our swing set. The tree was a very big oak tree, with limbs
hanging out very long. One limb was right over the swing set, so it was pretty easy for them to reach. I was scared of heights, so it wasn't an easy task for me. But, this particular day, I braved the climb, got on top of
the swing set and up on that first limb. Well, that's as far as I got! I just couldn't climb up any higher in that tree!!
Many of you may be 'out on a limb' in your spiritual walk. You've gone so far and can't quite go any farther. You seemed to have come to a place where it's easy to rest and not worry about having to do anything else.
Perhaps you are trying to reach someone wayward one, or someone not following the leading of the Lord in their walk with Him. But, you feel yourself out there with no hope of completing the task. God has sent you to do this very thing,
but the enemy is constantly blocking your way.
Never fear!! Where God sends you, you will be able to do whatever He has sent you to do! He tells us to go into 'all the world' and preach the gospel. That may not mean 'everywhere' for each of us, but, if EACH of us does our
part, then we will have gone into 'all the world' and preached the Word! So, if you are 'out on a limb', chances look slim of completing the task, ask God to show you the path you need to go. Listen attentively, for He says his thoughts are not our thoughts, and neither are our ways his ways. [Isaiah 55:8]
The way we may want to do something may keep us from getting the task done. But, if we listen to God, do it HIS WAY, then, we will surely get 'off the limb'!
His Thoughts
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we want to do the job you've given us to do, but we want to do it our way. Help us to listen to you, hear what you want us to hear, and do things YOUR way. Help us remove 'self' from the picture. We give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
