You Cannot Escape

Our Thoughts:

Do you remember wanting to get away from your parents? My children would get upset with me for something, and go 'hide'. They thought that I would never be able to find them. What seemed a good hiding place for them was only a spot in the house. Oh, it might take a few minutes to find them, but, eventually, they were discovered. My grandchildren now do the same thing. My youngest grandson has a habit of 'playing' with his parents. He will hide some place in the house and refuse to answer. He can be so quiet! But, still, eventually, Mom or Dad will come upon him, hidden behind the bed, or perhaps in the closet. He just cannot seem to escape their eyes!

With our heavenly Father, it is the same way. We may want to hide at times, when we feel we've not done what He wants of us. But, there is no place on earth or off that He can't find us. There is no disguise that will keep us from being recognized by God. He is an 'all-seeing God' - we can't see Him, but He sees us.

It doesn't matter where we go, we can't get out from under His watchful eyes. And, as a Christian, I am happy to have God watching over me at all times. With His help, we can stay out of harms way. He sees the dangers that lurk about us, and, if we lean upon Him, then He will direct our paths away from harm. But, even for the sinner, God is watching every move. If your life doesn't line up with God's Word, why not change today? Then, you will not feel like 'hiding' from Him, because He sees you how you are.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, we know we can't escape your watchful eyes. Help us keep our life in a state in which we aren't afraid for you to see us. Help us to always follow your commands. I give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
