Dig For The Nuggets!

Our Thoughts:

"Go west, my son, go west!" Remember the tales about going to the west to 'pan for gold'? And, perhaps you saw movies of the wild, wild west, in which there was usually one scene about the men panning for gold in a stream. They used a pan with a screen in the bottom to screen out the sand or dirt, and keep in the gold that was there. Every once in awhile, you'd see a little gold. But, there never was a big nugget. Those BIG nuggets had to be mined. Otherwise, they had to be satisfied with the little pieces of gold they found in the streams.

The Word is like a gold mine. You can search through it quickly, giving it sort of a hit and miss attack, and you will come away with a few 'pieces of gold'. But, if you sit and study the Word daily, researching the words in the scripture, you will soon find that the nuggets will get larger day by day. If you keep up this studying of the Word, you will soon have the big nuggets of truth that are only obtained by 'digging'.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, teach us to constantly study the Word, to receive the big nuggets of truth which will help us through the days and weeks ahead. I give you praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
