At Barbara's Entourage Weather The Storm
Our Thoughts:
Alabama was hit with serious weather last night. Many tornadoes passed across the state, doing a lot of damage and killed many people.
It was a devastating time for many communities that now have to deal with the aftermath. Schools and churches were hit, homes destroyed, and lives, in general, in disarray.
I know it will take a long time to get the communites back into the state they were before the storm. Power is out in many places. Trees were blown down across the houses, cars, and roads.
There were also wrecks caused by the weather - people caught driving in the storm without notice.
Even as we go through storms in our natural lives, we go through storms in our spiritual lives. The 'winds of change' sweep over us, and we get dis-satisfied with where we go to church. The enemy
keeps nudging you on the shoulder to 'move'. Now, this isn't the Holy Spirit telling you to move, but lots of times, you listen with 'obedience' to the enemy, thinking it's God speaking. Turmoil does not come from the
Holy Spirit! The enemy likes the confusion he causes; he's watching and waiting, after each of his requests to your spirit, to see what action you are going to take. He knows right where to attack. He pays attention
to all you say, whether it be good or disapproving, about your church, the people you attend with - knowing he can attack you in the areas in which you aren't strong.
We have to really watch the things we do, and the things we say. If we don't, we may find ourselves becoming really lax in our spiritual lives without even realizing it's happening. But, we can stop the process,
once we realize what's going on. Stop, observe, and resolve to change the atmosphere around you. The 'storm' can be avoided! Start now to change things - read the Word daily, and meditate on the Word. Pray, and aks God where the
most vulnerable areas are in your life that need change, and then start to make changes. It's easy to 'weather the storm', when you have Christ on your side!
His Thoughts
Psalms 107:29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, the enemy is always there trying to tempt us into trouble. Help us to be strong, to be able to resist the devil that he will flee. We give you thanks. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
